Our Story

This is Kedar, the founder of Keddy's Cafe. During covid, he DIY built a campervan with the help of my family, and drove it across country to move from California to NYC in 2022. After moving, Kedar quickly found that were very few social activities in NYC that didn't revolve around bars and drinking. 

An aspiring barista, Kedar took matters in his hand to create a third space called Keddy's Cafe in his apartment last year (2024), making coffee and chai for free for friends on Sundays, giving them a safe space to make new friends, create, and just be. 

Although he longer lives in that apartment, his passion for caffeinated beverages bringing people together is brewing stronger than ever and Keddy's Cafe has big plan ahead.

Growing up, Kedar's Mom and him would have chai every single day, and would sit and talk about their day until they finished every last drop. That shared cup of chai were the 10 minutes of the day where the world slowed. This year, Kedar wants to bring that same love for chai and the experience of being present over a cup of warm chai to the people of NYC.

Starting March 16th, Keddy's Cafe will be serving chai on wheels out of Kedar's camper van with a picnic in the park. Quality chai, unlimited seats, good prices, cozy blankets, and the warmest of energies. Exciting times ahead, stay tuned for the third space you didn't know you needed.
